Road to/from Blue River

As previously noted the road in is very rough, but worth stopping from time to time, this for example is the Blue River itself:

A volcano in the distance:

American Kestrel perched:

Bronze-tailed Plumeleteer:

verdant forest:

One stop by a river was very productive, adding Golden-hooded Tanager:

Orange-fronted Parakeet:

Slaty-headed Tody-Flycatcher:

An Olive-backed Euphonia with nesting material:

 Philadelphia Vireo:

One bird that had been a target species, but given the locations we'd chosen I really didn't think we'd see (a chap we met later on had been looking for one for ten years!) was the Long-tailed Tyrant, so imagine my surprise:

We saw other species but too far into the trees for pictures.  It was worth the out and back, once!
